Trivium is a three-player strategy game played on the Board (where pawns move) and the Score Track (where you race to 60).
Objective: Be the first player to reach exactly position 60 on the Score Track.
A triangular board with 6 rows. The bottom row has 6 cells, and each row above has one less cell.
You must choose one of the following actions:
For example: If your highest pawn is on row 4 and your current score is 37, you advance to position 41.
Important: You must land exactly on position 60 to win. You cannot overshoot! If your current score plus the points you would gain exceeds 60, you cannot make a score move that turn.
The first player to reach exactly position 60 on the Score Track wins the game.
You cannot win with more than 60 points - you must land precisely on 60. Plan your moves carefully!
Strategy tip: Balance between climbing high on the Board for more points and protecting your pawns from being jumped!
You may encounter these robot players as opponents. Each has a distinct personality and strategy:
The unpredictable one. Rita picks any valid move at random - you never know what she'll do next!
The pacifist. Percy always passes. He's not here to win, just to fill a seat.
The organizer. Franky's first priority is getting all three pawns onto the board before doing anything else.
The team player. Like Franky, Fonty wants all three pawns on the board but he wants them climbing together like a flock. He keeps them close and moves the lowest pawn up to rejoin the group. Scoring is the goal!
The loner. Harry wants to stay on the board with his pawns, but keeps maximum distance from everyone else. If an opponent gets too close, Harry will flee to safety. He just wants to be left alone!
The aggressor. Jolly loves to jump! If there's an opponent to knock out, he'll take the opportunity.
The mountaineer. Crazy always moves upward, reaching for the highest rows. He never retreats willingly.
The point-chaser. Sally scores points whenever possible, focusing on the Score Board.
The stalker. Holly hunts the nearest opponent she can capture, roaming across the entire board to find prey. She ignores opponents on the edge that she can't jump without falling off herself - Holly never sacrifices herself!
The ruthless hunter. Pete hunts the leader - the opponent who has advanced the furthest on the board. Unlike Holly, he will sacrifice himself to take down the leader! For other opponents, he only strikes if he can stay on the board.
The score-keeper's nightmare. Ned targets whoever has the most points on the Score Track - divine retribution against the proud! Like Pete, he will sacrifice himself to take down the leader. No mercy!
